Nursing Clinical Educator

Inova Health System is seeking a dedicated Nursing Clinical Educator to enhance our Professional Services team at Mount Vernon Hospital. This position is PRN, requiring 8-10 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

The Nursing Clinical Educator plays a crucial role in assisting with Magnet documentation and educational initiatives. This includes conducting educational assessments to identify learning needs, utilizing standards of specialty nursing practices, clinical pathways, and nursing strategic initiatives. Responsibilities also encompass assessing, designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs aimed at enhancing knowledge, skills, practices, and attitudes. The educator will create learning experiences for both new and seasoned team members by integrating theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical expertise. Additionally, the effectiveness of educational programs will be evaluated to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • Hours: PRN, 8-10 hours per week
  • Location: Inova Mount Vernon Hospital
  • Education: Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of progressive nursing experience in a designated specialty, with at least two years in nursing education.
  • Certification: BLS certification from the American Heart Association; must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or possess an active multi-state RN License.
