Position Overview

The Field Inventory Auditor plays a crucial role in supporting Zimmer Biomet by fostering and enhancing relationships with our clientele, which includes distributors, independent agents, direct sales, and support personnel. The primary aim of the Auditor is to meet and often surpass our customers' expectations by executing thorough inventory audits that are comprehensive and reconciliatory, ensuring that inventory records and traceability are accurately maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field travel to perform physical audits across various locations on a monthly basis.
  • Propose and implement process enhancements to effectively manage distributor inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Audit Supervisor to uphold proper inventory controls and traceability across physical sites and lots.
  • Execute audit and reconciliation processes for terminated distributors.
  • Provide reports and recommendations regarding appropriate inventory levels tailored to specific customers.
  • Carry out accurate inventory transactions and manage kit piece transfers when necessary.
  • Offer suggestions for refining company field inventory policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training and providing guidance to distributors and sales management on inventory management policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Engage with distributors, sales management, finance, and operations teams to address inventory discrepancies, supplying supporting documentation to the Audit Supervisor to facilitate resolution.
  • Maintain and update information for Audit Supervisor dashboards concerning audit completion, discrepancies, and related metrics.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures, both written and verbal, consistently.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer applications, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Strong orientation towards customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in building positive relationships with internal and external personnel.
  • Results-driven with the capability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
  • Able to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in process improvement and problem-solving.
  • Highly developed organizational skills, capable of managing multiple high-priority tasks/projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree is preferred, although equivalent experience may be considered, ideally in a related field. Candidates should possess 0-3+ years of relevant experience, preferably within the medical device sector. Familiarity with inventory control practices and physical audits in Spinal Orthopedics is advantageous. Proficiency in SAP is also preferred.

Travel Requirements

Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time is required.
