Job Summary:

BDO is a dynamic and innovative professional services firm that offers a unique opportunity for energetic and self-motivated individuals to develop their skills and expertise in the field of assurance. As an Intern in our Assurance practice, you will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to the success of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a structured on-the-job training program and gain a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
  • Become familiar with BDO's specific audit methodology and assist with various stages of the audit process.
  • Provide support functions to the audit staff during engagement and communicate effectively with clients' stakeholders.
  • Prepare and document work in working papers using BDO's specific tools and templates.
  • Contribute ideas and opinions to the audit teams and engage in constructive discussions with colleagues.
  • Complete an assigned accounting or audit-related research project and present findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the team's objectives.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting, with a strong academic record.
  • Pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Actively pursuing school credits to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team setting.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow with the company.

Compensation:

Individual salaries are determined based on numerous factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The following ranges are applicable:

California Range: $31.00/hr - $39.00/hr

Colorado Range: $22.00/hr - $30.00/hr

New York City/Valhalla Range: $32.00/hr - $36.00/hr

Washington Range: $31.00/hr - $36.00/hr
