Event Operations Manager

Job Summary
The Henry Ford is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Banquet Department, you will be responsible for the execution of catered events, ensuring seamless coordination with our Sales and Culinary teams to meet and exceed guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Banquet Captains, Stewards, Bartenders, and Servers during events to ensure exceptional service and attention to detail.
- Create detailed Banquet packets for staff, outlining event timelines, equipment needs, job responsibilities, and special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Collaborate with the Culinary team to coordinate event timing and production, ensuring seamless execution.
- Communicate effectively with the Sales Team to determine proper floor plans, meeting notes, and special requests or needs prior to each function.
- Provide continuous communication with clients throughout the event and conduct post-event checks to ensure all expectations were met and exceeded.
- Work closely with the Senior Banquet Manager to order special beverage requests or equipment rentals as needed.
- Ensure proper presentation, preparation, and service standards are met in conjunction with the Culinary and Sales Teams.
- Handle guest issues professionally and follow proper protocol for any alcohol-related incidents.
- Assist with labor and wage cost controls, inventory management, and stock supply orders.
- Contribute to the development of continuous staff education and conduct performance reviews for part-time staff.
- Assist with the review and revision of Banquet Department policy and procedural manuals.
- Perform other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Four or more years of banquet/catering experience required.
- High school diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Flexibility with scheduling and open availability on weekends.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork-oriented and able to maintain a good energy level.
- Detailed-oriented and organized.
- Professional and able to work under pressure.
- Good time management skills.
