About the Role

RTX Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Principal Specialist, Program Cost Controls to join our team. As a key member of our finance organization, you will play a critical role in supporting a critical International AESA Radar Production Program.


Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Specialist, Program Cost Controls, you will be responsible for:


  • Developing and maintaining Earned Value Management (EVM) reports, baselines, and forecasts to ensure accurate financial planning and control.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate cost risks, and develop strategies to optimize program financial performance.
  • Providing financial analysis and recommendations to support program decision-making, including cost-benefit analysis, return on investment (ROI) analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Developing and maintaining financial models, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost analysis, including SPI, CPI, TCPI, IEAC, and VAR.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with MS Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • A U.S. government issued security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:


  • Experience with externally reported EVM programs, including IPMR, IPMDAR, CFSR, DFARS clauses, and DID formats.
  • Experience in communicating financial concepts, trends, and variances to management.
  • Proactive, creative, and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage daily tasks, meet deadlines, analyze, provide results, and recommend solutions to various levels of management.
  • Strong communication skills, including written and oral communication.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
  • Understanding and application of finance principles, concepts, and standard knowledge of industry practices.
  • Experience with modeling, creating formulas, and complex data mining using MS Office Excel.
  • Experience with SAP APEX and BW.
  • Experience interfacing with customers external to RTX Corporation.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, with a high degree of autonomy and independence.
  • Ability to quickly master business systems.
  • Prior experience in Defense or Aerospace.
