Program OverviewThis internship is designed for ambitious students looking to launch their career in the field of continuous improvement. You will gain practical experience, develop your professional network, and have the potential for part-time or full-time employment after the program.
Key Responsibilities- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements. Prepare detailed reports and dashboards to support informed decision-making.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analysis on production inefficiencies or quality issues using tools such as the 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams and propose corrective actions.
- Process Improvement Projects: Assist in the design and implementation of process improvement projects, utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on reducing cycle times, improving yields, and minimizing downtime.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing: Assist in training production staff on Lean tools and techniques, promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the facility.
- Documentation & Standardization: Help create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent application of best practices.
- Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with a focus in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and applies logical thinking when creating solutions.
- Demonstrates curiosity and initiative.
- Displays a professional, positive attitude with team members.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis.
- Knowledge of TPM or Lean Methodologies.
