Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Engineering Team for the summer of 2025. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in continuous improvement, develop your professional network, and potentially secure part-time or full-time employment upon completion of the program.

Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements. Prepare detailed reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis on production inefficiencies or quality issues using tools such as the 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams and propose corrective actions.
  • Process Improvement Projects: Assist in the design and implementation of process improvement projects, utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Participate in TPM initiatives, including preventive maintenance planning, equipment efficiency optimization, and autonomous maintenance activities.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on reducing cycle times, improving yields, and minimizing downtime.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Assist in training production staff on Lean tools and techniques, promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the facility.
  • Documentation & Standardization: Help create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent application of best practices.
Qualifications
    • Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with a focus in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
    • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience.
    • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
    • Demonstrates sound judgment and applies logical thinking when creating solutions.
    • Demonstrates curiosity and initiative.
    • Displays a professional, positive attitude with team members.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel.
    • Preferred: Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis.
    • Skilled in conducting root cause analysis using methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or other problem-solving tools to address production challenges.
    • Preferred: Knowledge of TPM or Lean Methodologies.
    • Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean principles, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and reducing waste.
