Job Summary

The Commercial Banker will lead the acquisition and management of profitable middle-market client relationships. This role involves executing a disciplined business development strategy and providing exceptional relationship management to build and service a portfolio of commercial clients. The Commercial Banker will be responsible for sourcing and structuring commercial business loans, treasury management, and depository relationships that meet customer needs and align with commercial lending policy. This role requires a strong working knowledge of commercial and industrial credit structures, commercial loan documentation, working capital solutions, commercial treasury management products, commercial card, syndicated finance, debt capital markets, and foreign exchange.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement business development strategies to acquire high-value relationships.
  2. Build relationships and assess the banking needs of existing and potential clients, facilitating introductions of subject matter experts and recommending bank products and services.
  3. Lead the loan acquisition, structuring, negotiation, and documentation process, making presentations to the loan committee and partnering with credit administration and underwriting departments.
  4. Maintain and expand existing client relationships through consistent communication and proactive outreach.
  5. Manage credit portfolios, monitor credit quality, and ensure data integrity, including loan renewals, reviewing financial statements and collateral valuations, analyzing borrowing base certificates, credit analysis, cash flow analysis, and monitoring delinquency and risk grading.
  6. Adhere to the Bank's credit policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Represent the bank at community events and in civic leadership roles.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and executives across the organization.
  • Support and promote the Bank's vision, mission, and core values, organizational structure, and policies and procedures.
  • Provide strong leadership, fostering positive attitudes and trust among colleagues, customers, and prospects.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations and established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial banking business development, loan structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management, with formal credit training preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or commensurate work experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial banking products and services.
  • Experience in commercial loan documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and evaluate loan risk, credit limitations, and appraisals, with a thorough understanding of underwriting and financial data, including advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills for establishing credibility with partners, clients, and executives.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills with proven ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
