Job Title: Associate Director of Programs

Penn State Extension is seeking a highly motivated and positive Associate Director of Programs to join our nationally recognized Extension team. The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate programming efforts and ensure the development and delivery of high-quality, relevant, and impactful extension educational programs, products, and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate programming efforts to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality, relevant, and impactful extension educational programs, products, and services.
  • Lead the implementation of the Program Development Process (PDP), a structured market assessment and program prioritization process to identify and prioritize programming opportunities.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to Assistant Directors of Programs in program prioritization and development, production, and implementation.
  • Develop programming strategies and processes to improve, develop, and implement organizational structures, processes, and best practices to accomplish programming goals.
  • Work with the College of Agricultural Sciences Marketing and Digital Education teams to develop a comprehensive and strategic approach to program development and promotion.
Requirements:
  • Master's of Science required, Ph.D. preferred in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge of program development and implementation.
  • Excellent leadership, communications, relationship building, and financial management skills.
  • Ability to work well with faculty, educators, and staff in translating and packaging research-based knowledge and technology into high-quality educational programming for diverse audiences.
