Job Overview

M&S Engineering, LLC is in search of a skilled and forward-thinking Senior Project Manager. This role involves overseeing the planning and execution of projects related to high voltage electrical power systems, including distribution lines, transmission lines, and substations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the budget, timeline, safety, quality, and successful completion of project phases including scoping, design, and construction.
  • Determine necessary skills for project teams and assemble qualified personnel. Responsible for defining the scope of work for capital projects in accordance with project complexity.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring adherence to budgets and critical deadlines.
  • Facilitate management review meetings at significant project milestones and keep all relevant stakeholders informed about project status.
  • Address and resolve conflicts that may impact project costs, timelines, or client satisfaction, while creating effective recovery plans.
  • Oversee a portfolio of capital projects and manage communication among all project stakeholders.
  • Provide updates on resource allocation to functional managers and collaboratively develop contingency strategies. Ensure projects are closed out properly with all necessary documentation.
  • Mitigate inter-group conflicts and project delays to achieve completion objectives.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related discipline is essential.
  • 4-9 years of relevant experience in the design, construction, or operation of electrical power systems is required.
  • Experience in managing budgets and leading teams is highly preferred.
  • PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling software is a plus.
  • Prior involvement in engineering and construction projects is beneficial.
  • Experience in power distribution, survey/staking, or right-of-way processes is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of financial management in project control.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary to meet project deadlines.
