U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) is a distinguished non-profit organization founded in 1911, dedicated to advocating for the rights and needs of refugees and immigrants. USCRI collaborates with its affiliates to deliver essential legal, social, and health services to refugees, unaccompanied minors, trafficking survivors, and other immigrant populations across the United States and beyond.
PROGRAM INITIATIVE
In 2023, the U.S. Department of State, alongside the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, introduced the Welcome Corps initiative. This innovative program empowers groups of private citizens to form Private Sponsorship Groups (PSGs) that assist refugees in their integration into American society, promoting self-sufficiency and community engagement. USCRI aims to become a recognized Private Sponsorship Organization (PSO) under this initiative, providing vital support to PSGs in fulfilling their resettlement responsibilities.
As a leading national refugee resettlement agency, USCRI has a rich history of successfully administering Reception and Placement (R&P) services since 1975, having resettled over 350,000 refugees. This extensive experience, combined with a robust network of field offices and affiliates, positions USCRI to offer significant expertise and resources to PSGs, ensuring they can effectively support new refugees.
