About Hartford Hospital

Role of the Advanced Practitioner

Advanced Practitioners at Hartford Hospital engage in Emergency Medicine (ED) / Emergency Room (ER) within a bustling Level 1 trauma center, collaborating with residents and attending physicians. They assess and treat patients across all triage levels.

Qualifications

Exceptional physical assessment skills are essential. Candidates should have at least 6 months of experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating health disruptions and trauma conditions. Skills in suturing, minor surgical procedures, splinting/casting, and gynecological examinations are strongly preferred. A minimum of 1 year of experience in Emergency Medicine is highly desirable. Proficiency in minor surgical techniques is crucial. Required qualifications include strong communication skills and the ability to positively engage with medical staff and multidisciplinary teams. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on quality and efficiency are essential. Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment with varying patient volumes and complexities. FNP / PA-C: Graduation from an accredited FNP / PA program is required (elective rotation in Emergency Medicine is strongly preferred), with a Master's degree being advantageous. An active APRN / PA CT license, current certification, and Federal DEA license are mandatory.
