Position Details:

Hartford Hospital is in search of a dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to enhance their Medical Intensive Care Unit and Step Down team. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering direct critical care to complex, critically ill patients who require advanced life support and various technologies. Responsibilities include consulting for stepdown admissions and performing bedside procedures such as central and arterial line placements, as well as advanced ultrasonography. Comprehensive training is provided in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Role Specifications:

This position is open to both Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners.

Work Environment: Inpatient, Critical Care, Medical ICU

Role Responsibilities:

Under established protocols and in collaboration with supervising physicians, Advanced Practitioners will conduct routine physical examinations and develop comprehensive medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans for patients. They will also coordinate further evaluations and referrals as necessary, ensuring appropriate treatment within their scope of practice.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligibility)
  • Training: Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
