Job Title: Structural Forensics Investigator
About the Role:
A Structural Forensics Investigator with a P.E. license and construction background is needed to conduct forensic investigations of commercial, institutional, high-rise, and residential buildings. This is a hybrid position that can work remotely, from the office or a combination of both.
Typical engineering assignments include determining the cause of structural failures, construction defects, water/moisture intrusion, roof damages, structural collapses, foundation/settlement, and more.
Responsibilities include determining the cause and origin of structural failures and construction defects, conducting field inspections to document onsite conditions, and preparing and providing oral and written reports.
Qualifications:
- BSCE from an accredited school required
- 10+ years of professional experience having 5+ years of forensics, required
- P.E. license in state applying to (ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT), required
- Having additional P.E. licenses in additional states is, preferred
- NCEES, Preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Strong understanding of building materials, residential and commercial construction, and building codes
- Ability to travel 30% of the time having occasional overnight stays, required
