Forensic Engineering Opportunities
Engineering Design & Testing Corp. (EDT) is a leading association of engineers dedicated to the study, interpretation, and resolution of loss. As a Civil/Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting and managing investigations involving buildings, structures, and structural components, including structural analysis, damage assessment, building code compliance, lab and field testing of construction materials, and review of structural designs.
Our forensic engineering team is well-regarded as technical and scientific resources when determining the root causes of losses involving people, property, and products of manufacture. We work closely with clients from insurance-related firms, law firms, government agencies, and private industry, providing expert analysis and assessment of damage and loss to commercial and industrial facilities and equipment.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from weather-, fire-, or water-damaged buildings and building components to soil movement, drainage, and foundation issues, and defective construction and/or design. You will interact with clients and other consultants, manage multiple and unique projects, and prepare written reports summarizing your analyses.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in civil/structural engineering, including a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation. You should also have experience with computer software, such as MathCAD, AutoCAD, and MS Office. Additionally, you should be able to prioritize effectively, think independently, communicate clearly, and work well with others.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and manage investigations involving buildings, structures, and structural components
- Perform structural analysis, damage assessment, building code compliance, lab and field testing of construction materials, and review of structural designs
- Interact with clients and other consultants, manage multiple and unique projects, and prepare written reports summarizing analyses
- Work closely with the forensic engineering team to provide expert analysis and assessment of damage and loss to commercial and industrial facilities and equipment
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation
- Experience with computer software, such as MathCAD, AutoCAD, and MS Office
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively, think independently, and work well in a team environment
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience
