Job Title: Peer Support Specialist

Columbia Community Mental Health is a nonprofit agency and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that provides services to individuals with mental, addiction, and developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide recovery-oriented services to individuals who have self-identified as desiring peer supports, to promote greater independence, community integration, and recovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered support to individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities.
  • Use your lived experience and training to model recovery principles and promote wellness and self-determination.
  • Work in an office environment and in the community, providing services in clients' residences or locations of their choosing as needed.
  • Drive to different locations within Columbia County and occasionally to locations elsewhere in the Portland Metro.
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive support services.

Requirements:

  • Peer Support Specialist Certification (PSS, PWS, or CRM)
  • 1 year of direct support experience in the mental wellness field, particularly as a PSS, PWS, or CRM
  • Lived experience with mental health, substance use, houselessness, restrictive environments, and/or altered states
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Check

Working Conditions:

This position works in an office environment and in the community, requiring driving to different locations within Columbia County and occasionally to locations elsewhere in the Portland Metro.
