Position Overview:

The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel and the environment within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops systems for evaluating and mitigating risks or hazards affecting personnel and the environment.
  • Monitors current infrastructure and processes to ensure compliance and identify potential risks; performs EHS inspections regularly.
  • Facilitates actions and containment measures in response to incidents.
  • Conducts thorough investigations and compiles reports on accidents or environmental occurrences.
  • Delivers EHS training programs and investigates the root causes of accidents, injuries, or illnesses; prepares detailed reports with findings and recommendations for prevention.
  • Researches and assesses the appropriate use, selection, and limitations of essential safety devices.
  • Assists the plant manager or site leader in resolving EHS-related challenges.
  • Evaluates potential health risks or damages from improper product use; devises solutions to enhance EHS practices.
  • Performs follow-up inspections to ensure timely and appropriate resolution of identified issues.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation to comply with internal and governmental regulations and standards.
  • Provides necessary documentation to internal or external auditors as required.
  • Conducts vulnerability assessments and develops, communicates, and implements emergency management strategies.
  • Coordinates emergency management efforts with community partners and insurers.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Identifies, communicates, and drives the achievement of strategic objectives related to the organization's security requirements.
  • Leads the development and execution of processes, programs, and personnel for security across the organization.
  • Oversees the fulfillment of security responsibilities, including access control, security systems, investigations, and all physical security initiatives.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a related field.
