Job Description

We're currently hiring seasonal scribes to work between October and February. As a Scribe, you'll be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities
  • Capturing accurate and detailed documentation of encounters into the EMR in a timely manner
  • Assisting physicians with basic patient care and medical procedures
  • Directing patient flow, inventory, and following up on labs
  • Ensuring site lab compliance with Department of Health (DOH) Regulations
  • Providing exceptional customer service to our patients, adhering to established protocols and work processes
Essential Functions
  • Assisting physicians with basic patient care and medical procedures, including phlebotomy, Urine Drug Screens, rapid strep, UA, EKG, and procedure set-ups
  • Ensuring Department of Health (DOH) compliance of site lab and exam rooms, including logbook maintenance, checking for expired medications and supplies, and proper handling of specimens
  • Escorting patients to exam rooms, x-rays, or other facilities on site as needed
  • Maintaining a quick pace in a fast-paced urgent care facility for the duration of scheduled shifts
  • Facilitating diagnostic tests and referrals to medical specialists for follow-up care
Qualifications
  • High School Degree or GED, Undergraduate degree a plus
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or phlebotomy and EKG certifications a plus, but not required (training will be provided)
  • Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner
  • Flexible with full-time work schedule, including weekends
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Passion for outstanding results and compassion for those we work with and serve
  • Team player
  • Knowledge of third-party payor requirements preferred
  • Strong aptitude for detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Happy and positive thinking, able to project this attitude around others
  • Flexible and adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving environment
  • Passion for helping others in an urgent care environment
  • Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on site location
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
