Director of Finance Job Description

Hospice of the Foothills is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to lead our financial operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that support our mission to provide compassionate end-of-life support and bereavement services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage the annual operating and capital budget, financial services, general accounting, patient business services, data processing function, and financial and statistical reporting.
  • Manage staff in the finance department and IT department.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation and review of operating budgets, capital budgets, and financial and statistical data.
  • Develop and implement operational plans for working capital, cash management, and reserve funds.
  • Direct the preparation and evaluation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and government reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accurate and current taxes and payroll.
  • Counsel management and the Executive Director on reducing costs, increasing revenues, developing new programs/services, and implementing technological improvements.
  • Participate in management and staff meetings representing HOF financial interests and serve as a member of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
Requirements:
  • Four-year degree in accounting and business administration, and five years accounting experience with computer skills in accounting programs, and experience with non-profit agencies preferably in the Healthcare field.
  • Valid CA Drivers License.
  • CPA certification desired.
