Job Summary:

The Director of Infrastructure is responsible for leading the Infrastructure Division, defining the division's strategy, and overseeing the execution of departmental heads. This role requires collaboration with Application Sub-Division Directors and Customer Business Units to ensure reliable, resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure services.

The Director establishes priorities, drives process maturity, and achieves service level target objectives. They develop a three-year roadmap to address business growth, new service needs, and industry good practices. The Director communicates and monitors technology standards, ensures timely planning, and establishes effective partnerships to deliver IT services to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize the Infrastructure Division, leaders, and staff to establish and communicate IT service capabilities and objectives.
  • Ensure all infrastructure assets and processes are maintained, secure, and actively monitored.
  • Define infrastructure strategy, architecture, and plans, and develop a three-year roadmap.
  • Support Application leaders in achieving application service level targets.
  • Lead innovation within the division and influence the broader enterprise to enhance capability and service level.
  • Establish a proactive team by stabilizing operations, consolidating technologies, and automating monitoring and execution of repetitive tasks.
  • Advises staff, sets priorities, and establishes clear directives for operational and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Drives efficiency and discipline into daily operations to achieve service level targets and cost objectives.
  • Formulates, reviews, and forecasts operating budgets for all customers.
  • Reviews and evaluates infrastructure leaders, sets goals, and prepares performance reports.
  • Reviews contracts and master service agreements and develops and evaluates vendor proposals.
  • Interfaces with clients, provides status on problems, and reviews service levels.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, Master's Degree preferred.
  • 15+ years' experience in senior IT management positions.
  • Experience managing large vendor relationships (EMC, Microsoft preferred). Strong contract negotiation skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement processes and standards and effectively communicate those across an IS organization.
  • Experience and understanding of all major technologies supported, including Unix, AS400, RHEL, Cisco VoIP, SAP, Microsoft Server, SQL, and Exchange.
  • Experience developing IT strategies, roadmaps, and budgets and executing the same.
  • Experience monitoring and improving performance of Managed Service Partners.
  • Cost management, including cost allocation of resources/services in a shared service model.
  • Technical project management.
  • Experience mentoring and developing personnel to develop more skills, expand capacity, and take on broader responsibility.
  • Experience in automotive, finance, or similar industries is a plus.
Salary Range: $191,000 - $250,000
