Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Specialist III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our nutrition services team, you will be responsible for providing advanced nutrition services, including planning, coordination, and evaluation of nutrition programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement nutrition care plans for individuals with complex nutritional needs
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy for consumers with multiple chronic conditions
  • Evaluate and communicate nutrition requirements to consumers, families, and staff
  • Develop and evaluate nutrition service plans and educational materials
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans for individuals at higher nutritional risk
  • Provide nutrition clinical oversight and liaison with Food Service Management to ensure compliance with nutrient standards
  • Develop and implement quality assurance monitoring of nutrition activities and participate in Quality Management activities
  • Supervise and train clinical nutrition employees in performance of their duties
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year university or college plus completion of a dietetic internship
  • Knowledge of food and nutrition, food systems management, food science, and therapeutic nutrition
  • Ability to counsel and train others in food and nutrition
  • Ability to evaluate and communicate nutrition requirements
  • Ability to develop and evaluate nutrition service plans and educational materials
  • Knowledge of common drug/nutrient interactions which impact nutritional status
  • Ability to interact effectively with consumers, families, and staff
  • Ability to work with various teams and perform basic and complex math calculations
