Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Guest Services Specialist to join our team at AdventHealth Orlando. As a key member of our patient experience team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors. Your primary focus will be on ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all individuals who interact with our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor patient registration wait times and ensure patients are directed to the patient access representative within designated standards.
  • Support registration staff during peak times, ensuring patients are processed through system protocols in a timely manner.
  • Collect patients' financial responsibilities, including co-payments, co-insurances, and deductibles, and place clear and thorough financial assessments on patient accounts.
  • Actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Requirements
  • One (1) or more years of experience in customer service.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing patient-related information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and database programs.
  • Ability to operate general office machines, such as computers, facsimiles, copiers, and scanners.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of computer programs, such as Cerner.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Exposure to insurance benefits and ability to decipher insurance benefit information.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
