Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Deputy Chief of the Office of the Director-Research Unit, the Research Data Supervisor II oversees a team of research staff, responsible for carrying out specific program elements. The incumbent devises and implements overall plans for assignments such as apprentice determinations, petitions to review, and special research assignments. They organize the workload and assignments of the research staff who conduct wage and benefits surveys, and oversee the semiannual publication of the Director's General Prevailing Wage Determinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement plans for research assignments, including apprentice determinations and petitions to review.
  • Oversee the workload and assignments of research staff conducting wage and benefits surveys.
  • Ensure the timely publication of the Director's General Prevailing Wage Determinations.
  • Communicate business requirements to the Office of Information Services and/or vendors for systems maintenance or systems development projects.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff at all levels within and outside the DIR.
Requirements
  • Supervisory experience in research projects related to wage and benefits.
  • Ability to review and provide feedback on analytical data research performed by others.
  • Experience with managing multiple deadlines and goals, including multitasking and delegating work to staff.
Working Conditions

The incumbent works in a cubicle environment in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The position is located in the San Francisco office in a high-rise building. Typical machines, tools, or equipment required to operate include PCs with Windows and database applications, copy/fax machines, VOIP telephone system, and shredders.
