Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technology Supervisor to join our team at LabCorp. As a key member of our laboratory operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical work of the department, ensuring the operational readiness of equipment, instruments, and personnel, and meeting client expectations in the delivery of testing services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly oversee and supervise the day-to-day production and non-production activities of local departmental employees.
  • Monitor the quality of testing services provided by employees under your supervision.
  • Assign appropriately trained personnel and ensure sufficient staff are available to complete the workload.
  • Schedule department personnel to match the demands of the daily workflow.
  • Provide direct supervision to employees, including assignments, technical and behavioral performance counseling, and troubleshooting.
  • Support the department manager in fulfilling their responsibilities, including acting as manager during absences.
  • Assure quality and timely performance of production and non-production activities under supervision.
  • Report performance and results against targets and global standards.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance within your supervision.
  • Communicate production and non-production standards, guidelines, and information to supervised staff.
  • Participate in and support client visits, audits, and inquiries as necessary.
  • Recruit, train, and contribute to retention efforts of employees.
  • Conduct technical training and development of staff as needed.
  • Evaluate the performance of employees.
  • Support the manager in employee evaluations and development plans.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a laboratory following clinical training.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience is a plus.
  • BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other life science plus 1 year clinical testing experience; or Medical Technology degree.
  • Prefer professional certification (ASCP, AABB, or other) in area(s) of expertise.
