Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform assessments, develop plans of care, and implement and evaluate care for assigned patients
  • Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines to refine and achieve plans of care
  • Continually monitor patients' physical condition, emotional, and social needs
  • Perform triage assessments with rapid data collection related to medical and traumatic emergencies
  • Formulate plans of care with interdisciplinary team members, including expected outcomes for each assigned patient
  • Verify, document, and administer medication
  • Provide healthcare teaching to patients and families, along with appropriate documentation
  • Evaluate patients' progression towards attainment of outcomes and document the effectiveness of interventions
Requirements
  • 1 year of Emergency Department experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course, or TNCC Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
