Seasonal Surgical Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Seasonal Surgical Oncology team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a key member of our care team, you will provide exceptional patient care, collaborate with medical providers, and embody the organization's vision, mission, and values.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patients for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse with Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Masters Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with more than 360 beds. The facility is home to St. David's Children's Hospital, St. David's Women's Center of Texas featuring a Level III NICU, a Kidney Transplant Center, and the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. Additional services offered at this medical center include 24-hour emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.
