Role Summary: We are in search of a seasoned Vice President of Divisional Finance to oversee our financial strategies and operations. This leadership position will focus on financial analysis, budgeting, profit planning, and enhancing operational efficiency within our Southern California division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and management of the division's annual and quarterly financial forecasts, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Analyze monthly financial reports, sales data, and production metrics to assess profitability and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Optimize division investments and daily operations to enhance ROI, manage margins, and control overhead costs.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures within the division.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Sales, Construction, and Design, to evaluate financial outcomes and address variances from the planned budget.
  • Provide analytical insights to corporate leadership to enhance operational efficiency and uncover cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in setting pricing strategies in partnership with Acquisitions and Sales teams.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing department to manage direct costs and track commodity pricing.
  • Support the Corporate Accounting team in preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Engage with Corporate Finance on the development of new business tools and financial reporting processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA is preferred.
  • CPA certification is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the homebuilding industry.
  • Proven success in a similar financial role within a construction or homebuilding company.

Preferred Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of homebuilding financial dynamics.
  • Strong analytical skills for financial modeling and data synthesis.
  • Solid accounting foundation for comprehensive financial forecasting.
  • Ability to utilize data visualization techniques for clear communication of financial insights.

The compensation for this position will be determined based on various factors, including experience and qualifications.
