Principal Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Mission Systems team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test software for factory/production environments. Your expertise in software development, hardware integration, and test equipment design will be crucial in ensuring the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ATE test software for factory/production environments
- Support cradle-to-grave efforts, including requirements, design, integration, validation, verification, and maintenance for all test software activities
- Prioritize, handle, and lead multiple tasks in a production environment
- Troubleshoot software and hardware for test equipment development
- Communicate with engineering teams, functional teams, and program leadership
- Coordinate multiple projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules
- Prepare and present project/technical information to peers, internal management, and customers
Requirements:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience with software skills in C++, Python, C# are required
- Must have experience supporting automated test stations or systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with software applications using C, NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, or other test software programming languages
- Strong technical writing skills and an ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team of professionals
- Ability to interface ATE test software with laboratory and production tests instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, and/or direct current power supplies
- Knowledge of software Configuration Management environments such as Git/Github/Subversion
- Experience with file transfer protocol (FTP) and data transfer between Unit Under Test and test set computer for Software/Firmware loading as well as data captures
