About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join RTX Corporation as a Principal Industrial Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing and service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and solve complex technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Act as a liaison with design engineering to incorporate changes to designs that improve manufacturability.
  • Conduct studies on cost control, cost reduction, and inventory control using Lean principles.
  • Determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow, and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
  • Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and provide cost-benefit analysis by evaluating cost factors and schedules.
  • Perform assignments requiring the use and application of standard engineering economics and product development principles and techniques.
  • Improve facilities layout for manufacturing processes and equipment, taking into account economic factors, process flow, and operator efficiency and comfort.
  • Maintain awareness of start-of-the-art technology and its applicability to improve the company's competitive position in the assigned area.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of Industrial Engineering problems of an entry-level of complexity.
  • Provide engineering economics analysis support on stand-alone product improvement efforts.
  • Develop tools that enable manufacturing, aid process improvement, or address safety concerns with the assistance of a more experienced engineer.
  • Basic understanding and application of Industrial Engineer principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Research new processes, methods, and equipment and make recommendations to achieve continuous improvement in assigned areas of the factory.
  • Design, develop, and improve station loading/line balancing.
  • Create and maintain a factory staffing plan based on sales demand.
  • Be the primary focal point for BGA repair and gauge room processes.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
