Endoscopy Scheduling Specialist

St. Peter's Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Endoscopy Scheduling Specialist to fill a key role in our Endoscopy Suite. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless and timely scheduling of procedures, prioritizing admissions and appointments, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and physicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the scheduling of procedures in the Endoscopy Suite, ensuring timely and efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to prioritize admissions and appointments, maximizing allocated space based on medical needs.
  • Obtain thorough and accurate demographics and insurance data from patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff to ensure smooth scheduling and procedure execution.
  • Maintain the Endoscopy schedule, identifying block time issues and available resources.
  • Notify the Practice Administrator and other departments of special needs and schedule changes.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in hospital admissions or physician's office setting.
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance and managed care.
  • Medical terminology preferred.
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of a CMA program.
Certifications:
  • Current certification as certified medical assistant or enrolled in the SPH CMA training program.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Aptitudes:
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and courteously with customers.
  • Ability to effectively complete assigned work while experiencing multiple interruptions.
  • Ability to manage complex and multiple tasks within assigned time period.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
