Job Summary

The Lead Freight Operations role plays a critical part in our Event & Exhibit Services team. This position is responsible for leading dock labor at show sites, ensuring safe operations practices, and providing exceptional customer service. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with customers, sales, and operations staff to deliver the best possible experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead dock labor at show sites, assigning qualified personnel to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Adhere to safe operations practices to minimize safety violations and ensure a secure work environment.
  • Oversee loading and unloading show site dock operations, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Interact professionally with customers, sales, and operations staff to provide top-notch customer service.
  • Ensure equipment and tools are in place and ready for use, advising show leads of any additional needs.
  • Remove malfunctioning equipment from service and assist with its return after the assigned show is cleared.
  • Manage labor needs, submitting requests and following set hours of operation and labor at show sites.
  • Ensure all paperwork procedures are followed as outlined in the Freight Procedures Manual.
  • Confirm advance freight delivery to show sites has been arranged.
  • Minimize job costs without compromising service quality.
  • Provide excellent customer service, protecting the company against liabilities.
  • Produce accurate and timely payroll forms and time cards for hours worked on assigned shows.
  • Participate in corporate, branch, and freight operations training.
  • Lead show site safety and customer service meetings.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by Freeman.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment while being an independent thinker.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with safety and security measures for proper care of an operation.
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions, including completing online reports, printing, posting, running inquiries, and performing data entry.

  • Hourly range of $19.00-$29.57 based upon experience
