Position Overview: As a Claims Adjuster specializing in Workers Compensation, you will be responsible for evaluating mid- and high-level claims to ascertain the benefits owed. Your role will involve ensuring that claims are adjudicated according to company standards and industry best practices, as well as identifying subrogation opportunities and negotiating settlements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage workers compensation claims, determining compensability and benefits for long-term indemnity cases, while ensuring accurate reserves and necessary documentation is filed.
  • Develop and implement action plans for claims resolution, coordinating return-to-work initiatives and approving claim payments.
  • Process assigned claims, ensuring benefits are accurately determined and action plans are managed according to client contracts.
  • Handle subrogation processes and negotiate settlements effectively.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding claim actions with claimants and clients.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of claim files and accuracy in claims coding.
  • May involve processing complex medical claims, including state and physician filings.
  • Foster professional relationships with clients.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support the organization's quality initiatives.
  • Travel as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of four years in claims management or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with regulations, offsets, deductions, and medical management practices relevant to the industry.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient negotiation skills.
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to meeting or exceeding service expectations.
Work Environment:

Physical: Proficient in computer keyboarding and travel as required.
