Job Overview

Position Title: Bartender

Reports To: Director of Operations

Classification: Non-exempt

Key Responsibilities

At La Cumbre Golf and Country Club, we are dedicated to providing exceptional service to our members and guests. Our aim is to create a memorable experience for each individual by delivering personalized attention. As a Bartender, your primary role will be to prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while supporting the wait staff.

Essential Duties

Opening Duties:

  • Inspect the bar area before opening to ensure all necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Order additional supplies and beverages as needed.
  • Follow established setup procedures.
  • Prepare garnishes, mixers, and pre-mixed drinks.
  • Check the quality of juices and dairy products.
  • Stock and polish glassware; notify management of any shortages.
  • Mix and serve beverages according to established standards, ensuring no duplicate openings of bottles.

During Service:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar equipment.
  • Address any customer complaints promptly and report them to management.
  • Receive and store deliveries of beer, wine, and spirits appropriately.
  • Keep accurate records of inventory to ensure the bar is well-stocked at all times.
  • Immediately inform management of any issues regarding service or inventory.
  • Answer phone calls and relay messages as necessary.
  • Adhere to all club policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize safety by reporting any hazardous situations to management; all employees are responsible for maintaining a safe environment.
  • Ensure compliance with legal age restrictions when serving alcohol; report any violations to management.
  • Assist wait staff with service tasks whenever possible, paying attention to details such as refilling drinks and assisting guests.

Closing Duties:

  • Clean and mop the bar area at the end of your shift as per the schedule.
  • Secure the bar area following the established closing procedures.
  • Replace syrup and CO2 as necessary, and store syrup boxes properly upon delivery.
  • Lock up the bar according to prescribed protocols.
  • Consult with the on-duty manager before leaving.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours.
