The Bartender plays a crucial role in preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, while also supporting the wait staff.

Essential Duties

Opening Duties:

  • Conduct a thorough inspection of the bar before opening to confirm that all necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Request additional supplies and beverages as needed.
  • Adhere to established set-up procedures.
  • Prepare garnishes, mixers, and pre-mixed drinks.
  • Ensure the quality of juices and dairy products.
  • Stock and polish all required glassware; notify management of any shortages.
  • Mix, prepare, and serve beverages according to established standards, ensuring no unnecessary waste.

During Service Hours:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar equipment.
  • Promptly report any guest complaints to management.
  • Properly store deliveries of beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Keep accurate records of liquor, beer, and wine inventory to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Immediately inform management of any discrepancies or issues.
  • Answer phone calls and relay messages as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all club policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize safety; report any hazardous situations to management. Safety is a shared responsibility.
  • Refuse service to minors and intoxicated guests; report any incidents to management.
  • Assist wait staff with service tasks whenever possible, paying attention to detail.

Closing Duties:

  • Perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping bar storage areas at the end of the shift.
  • Secure the bar area according to established procedures.
  • Replace syrup and CO2 as needed, ensuring proper storage of supplies.
  • Lock up following prescribed protocols.
  • Consult with the on-duty manager before concluding your shift.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
