As a Retail Operations Supervisor, you will guide customers through their pet ownership journey and collaborate closely with management to ensure a pleasant, welcoming, and informative shopping experience for every visitor. You will oversee Sales Associates in daily retail functions while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

On a typical day, Retail Operations Supervisors:

Engage

  • Proactively interact with both our human and animal customers.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding specific products, utilizing the Pet Food Express Whole Life Approach to offer personalized recommendations that enhance the lives of pets and their owners.
  • Assist the Store Manager in attracting, hiring, and retaining exceptional talent to build a strong team. Provide constructive coaching and development to Sales Associates, fostering a culture of accountability and proactive engagement.

Learn

  • Participate in and lead daily training sessions and ongoing educational initiatives to improve your and your team's product knowledge and sales capabilities.
  • Stay informed about new products and trends within the pet industry, visual merchandising priorities, and brand messaging, sharing insights with your team.
  • Remain updated on company policies, business initiatives, and technological tools that influence sales and performance; ensure that vital information is communicated effectively across all team levels.

Operate

  • Guide Sales Associates through the procedures for opening and closing the store.
  • Oversee the operation of the POS System.
  • Ensure a customer-ready store environment: Lead the unloading of deliveries, restocking, and product placement while adhering to visual and display standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store (all team members are expected to participate in store maintenance tasks).
  • Monitor the store's safety standards, inventory accuracy, and adherence to company policies to support profitability.

Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for pets and customer service.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within a retail environment is preferred; experience in the pet industry is a plus.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow; we are expanding and looking for individuals who are eager to advance with us.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that meets business needs, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Capability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Ability to climb and balance using a ladder or step stool.
  • Capacity to stand, walk, bend, stretch, and engage in repetitive motions throughout the shift.
