Facility Description: Redwood Place operates as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC), catering to adult residents aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with severe mental illnesses and developmental disabilities.

Available Shifts:

  • Short Hour 0.2 FTE: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Shift; Saturdays
  • Short Hour 0.4 FTE: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM - Saturdays (week one) / Sundays and Saturdays (week two)

Compensation: A sign-on bonus of $1,000 is offered. The anticipated starting wage range is $45.48, with geographic differentials applied to pay ranges based on the location of the role. Starting pay will be commensurate with relevant experience exceeding the minimum requirements.

Position Overview: The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing designated roles within the nursing department during their assigned shift. Under general supervision, the LVN Manager engages in program planning, development, review, and assessment of both clinical and administrative functions. This role requires critical thinking and independent judgment to effectively direct, coordinate, and supervise a multidisciplinary team. The LVN Manager assigns direct report employees to work with clients based on individual needs and the unique skills of team members, ensuring recovery-focused services related to the safe administration of medical treatments as prescribed by physicians.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited LVN or LPT program and current licensure.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of LVN/LPT/LPN experience in a healthcare setting.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience, or completion of Telecare's assigned Supervisory training within 12 months in lieu of supervisory experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification is required upon employment or within 60 days, with maintenance of current certification throughout employment.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with the target population and/or in a similar program environment.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and their treatment, as well as familiarity with psychotropic medications.

Essential Functions:

  • Exemplifies the mission, purpose, values, and beliefs of Telecare in all interactions with stakeholders.
  • Provides functional and administrative oversight for assigned professional and support staff, including nursing students or interns.
  • Utilizes independent judgment to supervise designated staff members, including:
    • Assigning staff to clients based on individual needs and staff skill sets.
    • Guiding staff in their job responsibilities.
    • Training and mentoring team members.
    • Evaluating performance and managing disciplinary processes as necessary.
    • Participating in the recruitment and selection of new staff.
  • Employs management practices that empower staff, set clear expectations, and provide regular feedback focused on performance.
  • Oversees and delivers direct nursing care.
  • May assume charge or shift lead responsibilities based on program needs.
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Facilitates nursing care and assists with admissions and discharge processes.
  • Collects relevant data for client care and develops care plans accordingly.
  • Demonstrates crisis management and intervention skills.
  • Accurately transcribes physician orders in a timely manner.
  • Administers medications and treatments to clients, adhering to medication management policies.
  • Coordinates medication counts and reports at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Delivers change of shift reports as assigned.
  • Communicates any changes in client behavior or condition to the prescriber and nursing supervisor.
  • Documents client progress toward recovery goals.
  • Participates in community meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Assists with crisis intervention as needed, including restraint of clients exhibiting assaultive behavior.

Physical Demands: The physical demands of this position require the employee to occasionally sit, squat, kneel, twist, push, pull, and lift items weighing 25 pounds or less. Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and manual dexterity are also required. The role may involve exposure to hazardous materials, including bloodborne pathogens and infectious waste.
