Senior Power Systems Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power Systems Engineering Manager to lead our Electrical and Control Systems team in Portland, OR. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will play a critical role in identifying and leading the design and development of innovative power systems for our lift trucks and aftermarket parts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership
    • Provide technical guidance and oversight to cross-functional teams to ensure the development of high-quality power systems that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and procurement teams to drive innovation and improve product development processes.
  • Project Management
    • Lead the development of project plans, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
    • Manage project risks, issues, and changes to ensure minimal impact on project timelines and budgets.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers and technicians to achieve exceptional results.
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members to ensure their growth and development.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure clear understanding of project requirements and progress.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive consensus and resolve conflicts.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience
    • 15+ years of industry experience in power systems engineering and management, including experience with industrial/Automotive/Mobile Equipment Powertrain.
    • Proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and on schedule.
    • Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Skills
    • Excellent technical and business acumen, with strong understanding of power systems engineering and management principles.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
    • Ability to analyze complex technical and business problems, and develop effective solutions.
