Job Title: Power Systems Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Design Engineer to join our team at KMA Human Resources Consulting. As a Power Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing medium voltage power systems for industrial sites, including MCC and power cable/bus bar selection, oneline drawings, and detailed cable layouts.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop medium voltage power systems for industrial sites
  • Select power cables and bus bars for devices, motors, and transformers
  • Generate oneline drawings and detailed cable layouts using CAD software
  • Develop vendor specifications for tender packages
  • Manage vendors and budgets for client projects

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Design Engineer, 7-10 years preferred
  • EIT required, PE preferred
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad, Solidworks, or similar software
  • Design experience with medium voltage power systems in an industrial environment
  • Transformer and switchgear specification design
  • 480V MCC system design required
  • General layout knowledge of industrial sites including overhead and underground distribution systems
  • Project management skills including MS Project, budget tracking, and cost controls
  • Safety knowledge of industrial electrical systems
  • Travel to client sites (potential of up to 16 weeks/year)
