Job Overview

The Fitness Trainer plays a crucial role in facilitating the group fitness initiatives at Planet Fitness. This position involves guiding new members towards achieving their health and fitness aspirations by developing straightforward workout plans and demonstrating the correct usage of gym equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the group fitness schedule, ensuring it aligns with the club's operational needs.
  • Engage with members to discuss their fitness objectives and provide instruction on safe and effective equipment usage.
  • Design and implement bi-weekly exercise updates featuring diverse workout routines.
  • Adapt class offerings based on the size of the facility and member attendance.
  • Support front desk operations, which include:
    • Providing friendly assistance to callers and addressing their inquiries.
    • Managing member check-ins.
    • Facilitating new member registrations.
    • Conducting tours for potential members.
  • Address member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the fitness areas, which includes dusting and sanitizing equipment, vacuuming, and occasional mopping.

  • Exhibit professionalism in all interactions, utilizing appropriate language and behavior.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Nationally recognized training certification is required.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is necessary.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Regular verbal communication in person or via phone.
  • Ability to occasionally lift weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals may occur during the shift.
