Position Overview

The Program Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the Asia Program's initiatives, focusing on sub-granting, operational logistics, and administrative assistance for various projects and activities.

This position will operate under the guidance of the Director for Asia, collaborating closely with all members of the Asia team and coordinating with colleagues across RRI.

This is a full-time role with the flexibility of teleworking two days per week.

Key Responsibilities Administrative Support for the Asia Program (55%):

Lead the administrative coordination and execution of contracting processes with partners, collaborators, and consultants, from initiation to closure. This includes conducting due diligence, drafting contracts, managing payments, and handling all correspondence related to agreements.

Ensure all contract deliverables, including narrative and financial reports, are submitted punctually, and assist in monitoring and evaluating contract activities and outcomes.

Maintain organized files with contract agreements and related documents, and draft amendments as necessary.

General Administrative Support (25%):

Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and events organized by the Asia team, including travel arrangements and venue preparations.

Manage communications related to event participation and logistical details, oversee event budgets, and document highlights from meetings and workshops.

Meetings and Events Coordination (10%):

Organize logistics for various meetings and events, ensuring smooth execution and participation from Asia coalition members.

Budget Management (5%):

Assist the Asia Director in preparing and managing the program budget, tracking obligations and expenditures to ensure alignment with budget allocations.

Coordination and Research (5%):

Engage in regular team meetings, providing updates and contributing to strategic planning. Collaborate with regional partners to support program implementation and advocacy efforts.

Conduct research and analysis on relevant topics to support program activities and prepare briefing materials for internal and external use.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for candidates who possess equivalent work experience or a combination of formal education and practical experience.

2-3 years of experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is essential, particularly within an international organization or civil society organizations in an Asian context.

Proficiency in operational and administrative support is required, with a preference for experience in sub-grant management.

Strong organizational and project management skills, effective communication abilities, and professional-level fluency in English are necessary. Proficiency in an additional Asian language is a plus.

Candidates should be adept in basic computer applications and possess effective interpersonal skills to thrive in a multicultural environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $55,000 USD, commensurate with experience. Rights and Resources Initiative offers a competitive benefits package, including:
