Position Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer - Civil/Site to enhance our team of professionals.

As a vital member of our Civil/Site team, you will be viewed as a key collaborator. Whether overseeing the development of a large commercial site, residential project, or a small standalone facility, we value your insights while guiding you through the entire development lifecycle. Our extensive experience and strategic approach in navigating regulatory frameworks help mitigate delays, ensuring your project progresses smoothly. Key Responsibilities:

Your role as a Project Engineer will involve leveraging your leadership and engineering expertise to execute design tasks and supervise support personnel. You will be accountable for various technical elements of land development initiatives, including:

  • Site feasibility assessments and conceptual planning
  • Detailed grading and stormwater management design
  • Review of Erosion & Sedimentation Pollution Control (E&SPC) Best Management Practices (BMPs)
  • Post-Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM) BMP design review
  • Preparation of regulatory reports

Utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software, you will review designs from team members to ensure project completion within budget and on schedule.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring technical precision and adherence to standard engineering practices
  • Conducting site investigations and due diligence, including ordinance reviews and utility service research
  • Developing concept plans aligned with client objectives
  • Leading the design and review of stormwater management systems
  • Reviewing designs for grading and drainage to achieve value engineering
  • Designing utility systems and resolving conflicts
  • Preparing stormwater management calculations
  • Identifying issues and proposing solutions
  • Reviewing NYSDEC permits and regulatory compliance
  • Working independently and guiding team members
  • Adhering to company AutoCAD standards
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification required
  • 4-8 years of civil engineering experience
  • Experience in land development
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D with the ability to transition from concept to construction plans
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with clients and regulatory bodies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of local land use regulations
  • Technical expertise in stormwater management and site development
