We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our residents, staff, and their families at Pioneer Trace. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of care and function for our residents.
Responsibilities:- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including oral, eye, ear, nasal, topical, and suppository medications.
- Prepare and administer PRN medications with approval from the Charge Nurse.
- Count controlled drugs at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Document medication administration and maintain accurate records.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining a clean and safe resident environment.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current Nursing Assistant Certification.
- State certification as a medication aide.
- Registered with the registry board.
- Minimum 6 months experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
- Ability to follow direction with minimal oversight.
- Organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and supplies/equipment used by the department.
- Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English.
- Ability to tactfully deal with facility personnel, residents, family members, visitors, etc.
