Job Title: 3rd Shift Cell Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically talented individual to lead our 3rd shift cell as a Cell Leader. The successful candidate will provide direction to skilled bargaining unit employees, lead employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts, and drive sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily shop floor supervisory responsibilities in BU 360, Cases, and Special Processes on 3rd shift.
  • Establish daily job assignments and work schedules considering customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities/constraints.
  • Improve production throughput, employee productivity, and job efficiency through execution of Standard Production System (SPS).
  • Partner with support functions for real-time problem resolution on the manufacturing floor.
  • Provide direction to skilled CSMC bargaining unit employees to resolve issues related to manpower, machine, method, and material.
  • Lead employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost reduction through the system's various elements.
  • Provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on team building through daily toolbox meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsive to production requirements and changes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or equivalent experience with minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
  • Work schedule 3rd shift Sunday – Thursday, 11:30PM – 6:30AM.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office applications and other systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong experience working with all levels of management and working in a union environment supervising and directing hourly employees.
  • Strong managerial and leadership experience with specialized knowledge or technical/operational practices and/or manufacturing shop environment experience.
  • Strong SAP user experience and working knowledge in various transactions.
  • Experience with continuous improvement principles (SPS, Lean Manufacturing, 8D, DIVE, RCCA, ).
