Broadcast Technical Director Opportunity

Hearst Television is seeking an experienced Broadcast Technical Director for our station's live newscasts at WLKY-TV in Louisville, KY. As a key member of our production team, you will oversee the visual direction of newscasts, providing creative input and working with the newscast producer and production crew to ensure a clean technical execution of the look of the newscast.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the visual direction of newscasts, ensuring a high-quality broadcast experience for our audience.
  • Collaborate with the newscast producer and production crew to develop and implement creative ideas for newscasts.
  • Responsible for the technical execution of newscasts, including calling and punching live weather coverage and breaking news when needed.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working as a technical director at a commercial television station.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced newscast production environment.
  • Must be willing to work evenings, vacations, and holidays as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Experience with Sony Production Switchers is desired.
  • Experience with ENPS, VIZ RT graphics, and Bitcentral video playback will be helpful.
  • Related military experience will be considered.
