Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, design, and construct utility projects tailored to our remote rural communities
  • Request bid proposals, establish contracts, and ensure quality assurance through comprehensive work plans, material reviews, and detailed inspections
  • Coordinate construction schedules, balancing ongoing utility operations with project demands
  • Travel to remote communities via small single-engine aircraft to oversee construction work firsthand
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Over 5 years of professional experience in project management, with a strong foundation in management, engineering, or a related discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools

Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) is a unique electric generation and distribution cooperative, serving 59 communities across Alaska. Our operation spans 46 small, isolated grids relying on a mix of diesel, wind, and solar generation to power 11,513 meters and maintain 515 miles of distribution line.
