Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range for this position reflects a nationwide market range and encompasses a broad spectrum of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be influenced by various factors, including the complexity and location of the role, as well as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.

Opportunity Overview
The Commercial Accounts division provides a comprehensive range of guaranteed-cost products tailored for mid-sized businesses. Our total account solutions include General Liability, Property, Automobile, Workers' Compensation, and Lead Umbrella.

Role Responsibilities
The Commercial Account Manager will collaborate with agents and brokers to deliver property, general liability, commercial auto, and/or workers' compensation coverage for both new and renewal business, tailored to customer needs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned portfolio.
  • Underwriting and negotiating customer accounts to mitigate risk and enhance profitability.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with internal partners to create sales strategies and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Engaging with external partners through regular meetings to promote and sell Travelers products, aiming to write and retain accounts aligned with our risk appetite.
  • Identifying and seizing new business opportunities through consultative marketing and sales techniques.
  • Developing and implementing agency sales plans.
  • Executing regional/group sales strategies.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Three to five years of relevant underwriting experience, particularly in commercial lines.
  • Familiarity with commercial lines products, the regulatory landscape, and the local insurance market.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities to proactively identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication skills to negotiate successfully with agents and brokers.
  • CPCU designation.

Essential Requirements
A minimum of two years of underwriting experience is required.
