Position Title: Information Systems Specialist

Salary: $93,000 - $113,545.25 Annually

Overview:
As an Information Systems Specialist, you will engage in advanced information systems analysis tasks, focusing on the development, installation, and upkeep of software applications and hardware systems. Your role will encompass the administration and support of personal computer systems and local area networks (LAN), alongside a variety of technical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct professional-level information systems analysis in the creation, installation, and maintenance of software applications.
2. Design and execute test data, ensuring thorough testing of computer programs; collaborate with staff and end-users to confirm that programs meet established specifications.
3. Develop scripts and codes to create alternative access methods for relational databases.
4. Generate custom reports from relational databases utilizing various reporting tools.
5. Address user inquiries regarding system operations or hardware/software issues; modify program coding and provide solutions to operational challenges.
6. Deliver user training for relevant software applications; create and maintain user training manuals and documentation.
7. Offer supplementary support and security for various application servers within the organization’s database.
8. Administer local area network systems; oversee the procurement, installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of file servers, personal computers, and related software.
9. Analyze, install, maintain, and develop software application requirements; troubleshoot software issues and evaluate new software/hardware, recommending changes as necessary.
10. Manage and maintain citywide software inventory and licenses.

Qualifications:
Knowledge:
- Understanding of relational databases and associated software.
- Familiarity with computer science principles and information systems.
- Proficiency in software prototyping and systems programming.
- Knowledge of installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance methods for information systems.

Skills:
- Ability to recommend, design, and implement software applications.
- Competence in responding to user needs and determining effective resolutions.
- Technical support for software application implementation and maintenance.
- Proficiency in various programming languages.
- Capability to detect, isolate, and resolve information system issues.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of experience in application programming or systems analysis.
