Job Title: Information Systems Technician II

Join the City of Reno's Information Technology team as an Information Systems Technician II. This role is responsible for providing second-level support in the planning, design, testing, and implementation of citywide computer, telecommunications, and other end-user systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, upgrade, and configure computers, telephones, printers, and peripherals.
  • Load and test all upgraded operating systems and computer software.
  • Respond to customer service requests and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Diagnose and repair computer and software issues.
  • Install and support department-specific software packages.
  • Maintain the City's technology equipment inventory and process equipment for vendors.
  • Perform security administration for network resources and maintain network user and machine accounts.
  • Assist in the installation, setup, support, configuration, and backup of network systems, servers, and infrastructure.
  • Administer and troubleshoot multimedia systems.
  • Update the City documentation library and develop custom applications as needed.
Requirements:
  • An Associate's Degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of increasingly responsible computer support experience.
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license.
  • CompTIA (Professional or Master), Microsoft MCP, MCSE, MCITP, or other certification is desirable.
Working Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with some travel from site to site. There may be exposure to inclement weather.
