Overview

White River Health System Inc is a leading healthcare provider seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Central Sterile Tech in our esteemed facility.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining sterile processing areas.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting Sterility Protocols
    • Follow established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, preparing, and packaging medical and surgical supplies and equipment.
    • Distribute medical and surgical supplies from sterile processing areas to other areas within the facility as needed.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance
    • Adhere to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment.
    • Monitor, interpret, and document results of physical, chemical, and biological indicators for all types of sterilizers used in the sterile processing areas.
  • Inventory and Distribution
    • Prepare and distribute surgical case carts according to physician's preference lists and anticipated needs of the perioperative team.
    • Inventory, receive, and restock materials used for supporting sterile processing services.
Requirements
  1. Education and Certification
  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of sterile processing experience.
  • Obtaining one of the following certifications: Central Supply Processing Department Technician (CSPDT), Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification, Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) certification within two years of employment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Basic computer skills for completing educational requirements.
  • Ability to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
  • Effective communication both orally and in writing with other individuals.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift and move patients, push carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to maneuver throughout the halls, stairways, and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies.
Compensation

We offer an estimated salary of $40,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
