Job Summary

The Environmental Services Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Environmental Services by providing strategic leadership and direction to the Environmental Services Department. This individual ensures that all managers and supervisors possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to effectively oversee their assigned areas of responsibility. The EVS Operations Manager will collaborate with the management team to educate, mentor, and support them in providing leadership in the completion of department responsibilities, including allocating staff, equipment, and supply resources to fulfill the department's cleaning responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Environmental Services Department, ensuring that all managers and supervisors have the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to effectively oversee their assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with the management team to educate, mentor, and support them in providing leadership in the completion of department responsibilities.
  • Allocate staff, equipment, and supply resources to fulfill the department's cleaning responsibilities.
  • Build relationships with nursing leadership and other supported departments to communicate with and listen to the customers' needs.
  • Ensure that the management team carries out and properly documents department quality assurance activities.
Requirements
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with subordinates and a variety of hospital personnel.
  • Two-year degree with 7 years' experience in a related field. A 4-year degree is preferred.
  • Leadership skills and experience supervising managers and working with a staff of 30+.
  • Experience in managing multiple services is preferred.
  • Ability to prepare reports by utilizing hospital and department computerized software programs.
